Conservatory Furniture – Glass or Weave table tops?No conservatory furniture table is complete without some type of tabletop. If you entertain in the area, you may have a large table that would be ideal for eating in the sunshine. If you love to have quiet time there, you may need a smaller tabletop where you can sit a cup of tea or coffee while you’re enjoying your favorite book or listening to music. However, those tabletops need to be cleaned carefully to preserve their beauty in the conservatory. Here is something to avoid: Avoid weave top tables: Glass top tables are easy to clean At the Cane Furniture Warehouse we sell glass with most of our weave table tops, this I because it is easy to clean and has a flat surface to lay your drink / object on. Our glass is a minimum of 6mm and is always toughtened. Smudges and even small stains can show up quite easily on standard glass. One option is to choose frosted glass which is a bit more forgiving. Otherwise, make sure you invest in some quality coasters for drinks and have a glass cleaner nearby at all times in the conservatory for emergency cleaning. Stone & Granite Surfaces Two of the most common tabletop surfaces in the conservatory are stone. Generally, granite is going to be the easier of the two to work with because it is almost maintenance free. That’s why it is so popular in kitchens for counters. However, stone can pose a couple of problems. Stone tends to be very porous so if something spills on the surface it can be absorbed into the material and can cause stains. Certain acids can have a similar effect on stone, too. With granite, neither of these problems is going to be an issue. However, you will want to rub it down periodically.
