All Weather Rattan

The description ‘all weather rattan’ is slightly mis-leading because it is not officially rattan. In fact it is a synthetic man made material (type of plastic) made to look like rattan.

What is rattan?

Rattan is a naturally grown (in the tropical climates) vine that is very long and approximately 1mm – 5mm in thickness. Natural rattan is often used in conservatories but if used outdoors will deteriorate.

Our all weather rattan furniture is built with the finest quality materials:

a) The synthetic rattan (also known as fibre) is Ecolene, Rahau or Halaro, the finest and most highly respected companies manufacturing synthetic plastics.
b) The rattan is woven around a fully welded aluminium frame.
c) The feet on the item of furniture is either marine grade stainless steel or cast aluminium.
d) The finest quality outdoor fabric available is Sunbrella, our cushions are made from this outdoor material.
